Afforable days out by bus this half term!

Looking to get out and about this half term? Keep the kids occupied with a day out by bus!
Bus is a great travel option during half term so we have put together some ideas for days out that are all accessible by bus. Plus up to 2 kids under 5 can travel for free with a paying adult.
Why not try out the Bluestar 1, 'The One for Everyone', which runs up to every 15 minutes from Southampton to Winchester for a day out. There is plenty to do in Winchester, from exploring the medieval landmarks of the city to exploring shops and restaurants.
Get some fresh air and enjoy the green space in and around Southampton - the common is a great place for a picnic, bike ride or dog walk, plus you can now get there on our 19a route which runs up to every 30 minutes or Bluestar 1, U1 and U2 services.
For rainy days, Southampton has a lot to offer and most of our routes pass through the city centre. You could do a spot of shopping in West Quay, go bowling and hit the arcade, visit a museum or even try out an escape room.
If you'd like to get out of the city, Royal Victoria Country park is another fantastic option with woodland, open space, sea views, a play area and their own miniature railway. The park is easily accessible on our Bluestar 15 route between Southampton and Hamble. Just hop off at the 'New Road' bus stop for a short walk to your destination.
Our Z00 bus runs from Eastleigh up to Marwell Zoo and is easy to transfer onto from our other services in Eastleigh. It also serves Eastleigh train station for easy connection from there. If you use our Z00 bus, you get discounted entry to the park - just collect a proof of travel ticket from the driver. Find out more here. The £3 fare cap, and Southampton Plus/Network tickets are valid on this service.
Say goodbye to backseat squabbles and catch the bus this half term. We recommend you download the Bluestar app where you can plan your journey with ease, track buses in live time and buy tickets.
