Showing our support for Remembrance
Yesterday

We are showing our support for the Royal British Legion, with bus drivers and other team members wearing poppies throughout the period of Remembrance.
"We know how proud people across our communities are of the nation's Armed Forces, and so is our team at Bluestar," said Bluestar Managing Director, Ed Wills. "As an established part of the communities we serve, we want to show our support for those who serve, and those who have served, in the Armed Forces.
"All our drivers and other team members will be offered a poppy to wear, should they wish to do so. Alongside this, Bluestar will be making a donation to this year's Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, helping to support serving and ex-serving members of the Armed Forces community and their families.
"It is important to us that we acknowledge the dedication, service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces community, both past and present. We hope that by proudly displaying our poppies and raising awareness of the Poppy Appeal, we are visibly showing our support in a meaningful way.
Our drivers will be pulling over, where it is safe to do so, at 11am on Sunday 8th November for Remembrance Sunday and at 11am on Wednesday 11th November for Armistice Day, as a mark of respect to observe the two-minute silence.
We are also offering free travel all day on Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day for UK Armed Forces veterans and those who are currently serving. The hope is that this will allow them to travel to events or see family and friends.
All they need to do is show their military ID card, veteran card or wear their medals when boarding a Bluestar service.
"The free travel offer is a small gesture of thanks for the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces community," added Ed. "We hope it helps those attending remembrance events and commemorations across our network."
The Poppy Appeal is the Royal British Legion's annual fundraising initiative, running throughout the period of Remembrance and supporting serving and ex-serving members of the Armed Forces community and their families.
