Redbridge Causeway Eastbound closures

Over three weekends in July, from 8pm on the Friday night (7/14/21st July) until the early hours of the Monday morning (10/17/24th July), there will be a full closure of Redbridge Causeway in the eastbound direction, towards Southampton. This closure will cause disruptions to our waterside services - the Bluestar 6, 8, 9, 11, 12 and the X7.

During the closure, Bluestar 8, 11 and 12 from Totton towards the City Centre will not serve Totton Shopping Precinct or Totton Rail Station and will instead serve the stop opposite (RC Church) before diverting non stop to Redbridge Roundabout where the normal route will be resumed. This stop will make it seem as if the bus is heading in the wrong direction however, the bus has to go this way to follow the planned diversion. 

Bluestar 9 towards the City Centre will divert after Spicers Hill non stop to Millbrook Roundabout, not serving Rushington Roundabout. 

Bluestar 6 from Lymington will be unable to serve Rushington Estate and will divert from Knellers Lane direct to Totton where the bus will terminate. Stops in Cocklydown Lane, Ibbotson Way & Rushington Lane will not be able to be served.

The Salisbury Reds X7 will run non stop from Paultons Park to Millbrook Roundabout avoiding Totton completely. It will then continue on its normal route to Southampton.

Please note these diversions only apply Eastbound towards the City Centre, the Westbound direction from the City Centre is not impacted.

We will be putting on extra buses away from the City Centre to try to maintain the frequency of buses in this direction as we are expecting delays of between 20 minutes to an hour. Please plan accordingly.
