We have recently celebrated a year of fundraising for our corporate charity of 2023 this week, raising a total of £1,958 for Solent Mind.

We have been throwing our support behind Solent Mind by raising funds and creating awareness to help the mental health charity provide a range of services to people living across the region.

“Solent Mind provides trusted mental health services to our community, ensuring anyone who has a mental health issue has somewhere to turn to for advice information and support,” said Richard Tyldsley, Bluestar general manager.

“Those living within our local community have relied upon the charity’s support even more over recent years, and I’m delighted we have raised £1958 to help its team carry out its vital work.

“The decision to make Solent Mind our Charity of the Year for 2023 was made by my colleagues, who voted for it. Mental health can affect people from all walks of life, at any time, and the team here at Bluestar understands just how important it is to have support in place for anyone who needs it.

“We also covered the rear of one of our buses with Solent Mind branding, to help raise awareness of the wonderful work they do. They work very hard to assist those in need across our area, and we wanted to do all we could to help ensure they can continue doing that.”

Jo Silsbury, lead corporate fundraiser at Solent Mind, added: “Bluestar have been a fabulous corporate partner to Solent Mind. The free advertising they provided on the back and interior of the bus enabled us to reach a much larger audience on a daily basis and raise awareness of our mental health services. In addition to this they have been extremely supportive at our events such as quiz nights and we have loved joining them on the buses at Christmas to meet their customers. The generous donations we received through their fundraising will enable us to continue supporting  local people with their mental health particularly in projects such as Digital Skills at Mayfield Garden Centre.”

We will now be fundraising for Guide Dogs, which is our corporate charity for 2024.
