Representatives from Go South Coast - the bus company that operates Bluestar - completed the formidable Three Peaks challenge last weekend.

The popular endurance event sees participants attempt to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales within a 24 hour period.

“A group of us from Bluestar and the wider Go South Coast team - as well as some representatives from our parent company the Go-Ahead Group - completed this challenge in memory of our late managing director, Andrew Wickham,” said Ed Wills, Go South Coast managing director.

“It was fitting that we accomplished this feat close the first anniversary of Andrew’s passing. In the process, we raised more than £25,000, which will be donated to Cancer Research UK, at the request of Andrew’s family.

“Our team worked incredibly hard to ensure we were able to complete the Three Peaks in 24 hours - and it meant a lot to all involved, given the very worthy cause behind the challenge.

“I’d like to thank my colleagues for giving their all - and for being such good company over the course of the weekend.”

Dorset-based Damory, also part of Go South Coast, supported the group with transport and volunteer drivers.

Through donations, Cancer Research funds scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer sooner. It also provides cancer information to the public.

Our Just Giving page is still active and open to donations if you would like to make a contribution.
