We are celebrating International Men's Day by this year by shining a spotlight on some of the quirky hobbies, hidden talents and proud achievements that our male team members made over the past year.

A few have come forward to share:

Kristyon Valentine

He’s read poetry at two local events and sings daily. He is also a 'Human Book', and has joined about ten online events, speaking and listening to others about challenges they have faced. The main purpose of the human book project is to 'unjudge' people and create an open space for people to speak freely. On top of this, he has also recently completed a Level 2 course in Understanding Autism.

Michael Ramswell

His hobby is going to the gym and staying active. Even though he sits all day at work, he refuses to let that define his fitness. At 54, he’s focused on staying healthy, and he finds that working out does wonders for his mental health.

Luke Davies

In just a year, he has earned both his driving licence and, at only 19, his PSV licence. Gaining the ability to drive a car—and now a bus—has given him an incredible sense of freedom and accomplishment.

Tyler Whitmarsh

He enjoys scuba diving whenever he has a long weekend, especially when he can escape to warmer countries.

This is also a great time to pause and think about men's mental health. Many men struggle to open up about how they're feeling but often small conversations can make a big difference. We've taken this an another chance to remind team members about the wellbeing tools that we have on offer which provide a range of resources and support - whether you're looking for advice, someone to talk to, or ways to take care of your wellbeing.
