Check out Southampton's new bus hub - OPENING DELAYED
1 year ago

Great news! The new bus hub is opening in Southampton on Monday 04 November.
As part of the transforming cities plan put into place by Southampton City and Hampshire County Councils, Albion Place/Castle Way has been transformed into a bus hub. There will be more available bus stops, a safe space with new waiting facilities including seating and live travel information and an urban park that complements the city's heritage whilst strengthening the connection with the historic city walls. This, alongside the traffic restrictions that came into place in late 2023, will reduce congestion in the city centre and improve air quality through increased quality and use of sustainable transport.
The completion of this space also improves access to our new Travel Shop which is located in the old round Shopmobility building on Castle Way.
Which buses will use the hub?
The hub will primarily be used by buses towards Totton and the Waterside. There will be no changes to any other stops so you can still catch the bus from where you have been previously, this just gives you another option. Plus, you can enjoy the new space and facilities.
The stops that were closed due to the works will reopen. Buses that will serve the hub, and their stops, are as follows:
| Stand | Services |
| BA | Bluestar 11, 12 |
| BB | Bluestar 6, 8, X7 |
| BC | Bluestar 9 |
| BD | U1 |
| BE | Bluestar 10, 13 (towards Vincents Walk) |
| BF | Bluestar 15, 17, 19 (towards Central Station) |
| BG | Bluestar 10, 13, 15, 17, 19 (towards Woolston) |
