Industrial action on Tuesday 18th June

Strike action will take place on Tuesday 18th June. We will endeavour to run as many services as possible. Contingency plans have been put into place, but we regret that some services will be reduced compared to normal.

Please see below for the minimum route frequencies we shall be operating today, but customers are advised to keep checking our Facebook and Twitter feeds as we may be able to operate more journeys than advertised depending on availability on the day.

The Reason

The RMT union has announced a 24-hour strike at Bluestar on Tuesday 18th June 2019. This is despite us already having offered an above inflation pay increase. The RMT represents around 45% of bus drivers at Bluestar.

We are working hard to avoid this strike; but should it proceed we would like to reassure our customers that we will continue to operate services across the Bluestar network. We are putting contingency plans in to place, but we regret that some services may be reduced compared to normal.

We will be providing further updates in due course and should the strike go ahead, we will give full details of how our services will be affected via this page on our website and social media channels.

Unilink bus services are not affected.
