Easier travel for key workers

1 month ago Fri 10th Apr 2020

Bluestar and First City Red working together to provide travel for key workers across Southampton

Key workers in Southampton and the surrounding area can now use their bus tickets on either our services or  City Reds - regardless of which operator issued the ticket to travel across any of both our's and City Reds bus routes in the region.

We are working together to allow those who carry out vital roles to travel easily.

During this very challenging time, we recognise the need for key workers - whether NHS professionals or others carrying out vital roles - to get to-and-from work.

We are working together to ensure key workers have the best possible opportunity to travel as-and-when they need to. From Thursday 10th April until the coronavirus crisis ends, each of us will accept the other’s valid tickets.

Our drivers and City Reds bus drivers will recognise returns, dayriders or weekly passes - paper, apps or smartcards. Tickets for journeys across the Southampton zone are valid.
