German Market

Last year's German Market was a sizzling sausage-y success, and returns to its home in Above Bar Precinct on Friday 21 November, staying open until 23 December. Pick up an unusual gift from one of the stalls selling charming traditional continental arts and crafts, and enjoy a taste of mulled wine or German beer while you’re at it. The colourfully decorated wooden stalls, carousel, and candyfloss will really get your family into the Christmas spirit.

ice skating

New this year is the Southampton City Ice Rink, where you can unleash
your inner Torvill, your inner Dean, or perhaps your inner Bambi.
Whatever your standard, it's a great opportunity to skate on a
genuine outdoor ice rink. You’ll find it in front of the Civic Centre -
opens Friday 21 November and stays open until Sunday 11 January
(closed Christmas Day). Demand is expected to be high so we
advise you to book ahead.

more Christmas fun

Southampton’s got a whole lot more to offer this Christmas. There are Victorian fayres, pantos, kids' workshops and story sessions, and Christmas tree sculpture workshops to get you in the Christmas spirit.
