As part of our wider commitment to keep you informed, it’s now possible to get bus times direct to your mobile phone on many of our services across Hampshire.
Those bus stops that can offer these details have a code on the stop flag. The code will normally start with the three letters HAM. All you have to do is simply type the stop code as a text message into your mobile phone - and send it to 84268.
If the stop is a busy one, and you only want details of a specific route, then you can also add the number of the bus you want (leaving a space between the stop code and the number).
You will receive a message back, usually showing the next three departures from that stop. At the moment, scheduled timetable times are given, but we look forward to using "real time" information in the near future.
You can already find the code for your local bus stop by having a look on www.transportdirect.info.
Click on find a place, enter your address or postcode then show map of the area, to see a local map. Click on the bus stop lollipop symbol for the direction you want to travel and the code for the stop will be shown.
You may find it useful to make a note of the codes for the stops you use regularly – just text 84268 before you make your journey!
The cost of the service is 25p, plus your normal cost to send a text message.
TXT4TIMES is brought to you in partnership with Hampshire County Council
