bluestar 7 and 17 to Southampton General Hospital 

The bluestar 17 is your frequent bus service from Southampton City Centre to Southampton General Hospital via Shirley - every 10 minutes Monday to Saturday daytimes, and every 30 minutes during evenings and Sundays too.

With the earliest bus leaving Southampton City Centre at 5.20am Monday to Saturday and arriving Southampton General Hospital at 5.40am you'll arrive in plenty of time for your early shift, or have the right connection for your late shift home! The last bluestar 17 bus from Southampton General Hospital to Southampton City Centre is at 11.12pm - giving you the flexibilty if you have had to stay later than expected.

In early 2018, Bluestar 7 was extended in the West to serve Shirley, Millbrook, Southampton General Hospital and Lordshill, as well as the previously served Sholing, Woolston and City Centre. Running up to every 30 minutes, this is a great 'single-bus-journey' solution to get to the hospital if you live in these areas.

Unilink U6 to Royal South Hants and Southampton General Hospital 

The Unilink U6 is your fast and frequent bus to Royal South Hants Hospital. The U6 runs every 20 minutes Monday to Friday daytimes, every 30 minutes Saturday daytimes, and every 60 minutes at evenings and on Sundays. It only takes 7 minutes to get from Southampton City Centre to Royal South Hants Hospital.

The U6 is also the ideal bus to get from Portswood and Southampton University to Southampton General Hospital. The U6 service picks up from Portswood Broadway and Southampton University Interchange and stops directly outside of Southampton General Hospital on Tremona Road.

Please note Unilink routes use letters after the route number to help identify the direction of travel:

U6H runs from the City to Southampton General via the RSH then Portswood and the University, whilst U6C runs from the General Hospital to the City via the University, then Portswood and the RSH.

If you need to get to Hythe Hospital from Southampton, Totton, Marchwood, Fawley or Holbury the bluestar 8 is the most convenient bus service for you. The services stop directly outside of Hythe Hospital on Beaulieu Road and there's a bus every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday daytimes.

The frequent bluestar 1 service stops directly outside of Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital on Winchester Road every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday daytimes, every 30 minutes Sunday daytimes, and every 60 minutes Monday to Sunday evenings.
