From Monday 4th January 2010 for ten weeks, buses will be diverted in the Winchester area as a result of a major road closure across the railway, south of St Cross at St Cross Road.
We will be supplying an extra bus and three extra drivers per day on Bluestar 1 to maintain a similar level of service to what you get now.

What changes will there be?

Bluestar 1 will run via Badger Farm Road and Romsey Road in and out of Winchester, resuming normal route at Jewry Street. We will run via this route in both directions and pick up and drop off as normal at stops inside Winchester city centre. We will also make a new stop at County Hospital.

If you are travelling towards Winchester...
and want to get off north of Bushfield Roundabout (this is where the new Park & Ride is being built), please note that we will not be able to serve St Cross. If you are travelling to Winchester, your journey will take around 7 minutes longer than now. All deprture times between Southampton and Bushfield Roundabout will not change.

If you are travelling from Winchester...
buses will leave city centre stops at Bus Station, Brooks and Jewry Street around 7 minutes earlier than they do now, so please be at your stop at least 7 minutes earlier than at present. This is so we have enough time to get round the diversionary route, but get you to your destination at the same time as now.

If you are travelling between Southampton and Bushfield Roundabout...
there will be no changes to times or route.

If you are travelling from St Cross...
If you want to travel from St Cross Road throughout the time of the closure, Baby Bluestar E1 E2 E3 will run to a revised route, serving Stanmore, then left into St Cross Road and into Winchester (see below). There will be a special taxi bus in and out of Winchester to connect with Bluestar 1 and other local bus services. Please click here for timetable info.

Changes to Baby Bluestar E

Baby Bluestar E1 E2 E3 will run to a different route in and out of Winchester during this period.
We will start and finish at Winchester rail station and will not serve our usual stops at the bus station, Brooks or Jewry Street (Barclays).
All buses will run into Winchester rail station via Stanmore, St Cross Road and Jewry Street (Library).
All buses will run out of Winchester via Romsey Road and County Hospital.
