From Monday 13 October, road surfacing works will take place around the Commercial Road and Above Bar Street junctions near to the Cenotaph in Southampton.
Between Monday 13 October and Wednesday 15 October, Above Bar Street between Commercial Road and Cumberland Place will be closed.

Bluestar 1 & Bluestar 2 and uni-link uni-link U1 and U2 will run from London Road, via Cumberland Place and Havelock Road instead of Above Bar Street and Commercial Road or Civic Centre Road. Stops opposite Cenotaph and along Commercial Road, as well as the U1 stop opposite Civic Centre will not be served. uni-link U2 will drop off outside Civic Centre as usual, and the stop opposite the BBC at Havelock Road will be used by all buses heading towards the city.
heading away from the city
Bluestar 1 & Bluestar 2 and uni-link U1 and U2 will run via Above Bar Street, Commercial Road and Cumberland Place, resuming normal route at London Road. The stops outside the Cenotaph on Above Bar Street will be closed. Please use alternative stops at London Road.
Stop/go boards will also be in operation at Above Bar Street, meaning that some journeys on Bluestar 1, 2, 4, 18 and uni-link U1 and U2 may be delayed.
On Thursday 16 October and Friday 17 October, a section of Commercial Road will be closed nearest its junction with Above Bar Street.
heading out of the city
Bluestar 4 & Bluestar 18 (towards Shirley) will not serve Commercial Road at all. You can instead join the bus at the bus stop outside the BBC at Havelock Road.
heading towards the city
Bluestar 1 & Bluestar 2 will continue along Above Bar Street and run via Civic Centre Road and drop off at Marlands opposite ASDA. The stop opposite the BBC at Havelock Road will not be served.
Bluestar 18 (towards Thornhill) will not serve Commercial Road and will instead run via Havelock Road, Civic Centre Road and Above Bar Street. You can leave the bus at the bus stop opposite the BBC at Havelock Road.
uni-link U2 will travel via London Road, Cumberland Place and Havelock Road, terminating outside the Civic Centre as usual. The stops opposite the Cenotaph at Above Bar Street and along Commercial Road will not be served.
