Free Books on Buses

To celebrate the National Year of Reading, Bluestar has joined Southampton’s Reading Slam, offering free books on the busy bluestar 18 service across Southampton. Free copies of the new blockbuster by Nick Hornby, SLAM, are being distributed on Bluestar 18 buses free of charge to our customers so they can read it, talk about it and pass it on to friends, family and fellow passengers.

The launch of the Reading Slam in Hoglands Park saw the supporters of the Reading Slam gather together with the Mayor of Southampton, Councillor Brian Parnell, on one of our recently refurbished double deck buses. Joining the Mayor in celebration of the launch were members of the city community, including city council housing offices, leisure centres and librarians, as well as representatives of the fire service, book shops and pupils from the Cantell school.

Copies of SLAM are now available on bluestar 18 buses – take it, read it and pass it on, letting us know what you think when you’ve finished!
