Service Changes this February 2008

Following our initial reports on service changes, we are now progressing through further consultations with Hampshire County Council and Eastleigh Borough Council to reduce the impact of any changes made to our buses on February 24th.

We apologise for any uncertainty caused, and hope that this reassures you that most areas will actually retain a service.

  • Bluestar 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 – There will be some timing changes to improve reliability

  • Bluestar 7 – Sadly, this experimental, fast service between Marchwood and Southampton will no longer run owing to very poor levels of demand

  • Bluestar 8 – This service will continue, running every hour Monday to Saturday daytime. Unfortunately, the evening and Sunday journeys will no longer run and be replaced by additional Bluestar 12 journeys.

  • Bluestar 12 – More evening and Sunday journeys will now run, which will offer an hourly service with the last bus from Southampton at 2305. There will be some timing changes to improve reliability.

  • Bluestar 18, 19 – All journeys will run as Bluestar 18 to a common route all day, every 10 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 30 minutes evening and Sunday. Thornhill Park Road will continue to be served by Bluestar 3.

  • Red Rocket A – This route will continue and run by a different bus operator. Timetable details are yet to be confirmed, but a similar 30-minute daytime frequency is expected to continue.

  • Red Rocket B – This service, introduced in September 2006, has failed to meet with any level of sustained success and sadly will no longer run. Alternative services in the Boyatt Wood area remain on Baby Bluestar E1/E2/E3

  • Red Rocket C – Consultation process ongoing with Hampshire County Council. It is very likely that buses will still run in Hiltingbury and Valley Park, and certainly between Eastleigh, Velmore, Chandlers Ford and Fryern Hill. Any changes will be confirmed on this site as soon as information becomes available.

  • Red Rocket D – This service will no longer run. Most roads will continue to be served by Wilts & Dorset 65 and further changes to service C.

  • Red Rocket E – Service largely unchanged. Now branded Baby Bluestar E1/2/3

  • Red Rocket F – Service largely unchanged. Now branded Baby Bluestar F.

  • Baby Bluestar H1/2/3 – These services, run on behalf of Hampshire County Council, will be retained and now run every 2 hours.

  • Baby Bluestar T1/T2 – These services, run on behalf of Hampshire County Council, will be retained but the number of journeys will be reduced to run during mornings only

  • Nightstar N1, N2, N9, N18, N19 – all late night services unchanged

  • School & College Services – all school and college services numbered in the 4XX and 5XX series remain unchanged

New timetables are expected to be available shortly and will be posted on our web sites as soon as they become available.
