After nearly 40 years of sailing the oceans, clocking up an amazing 5.5 million nautical miles on the way, the QE2 will retire from service on Tuesday November 11 - and you can get a close up view with Bluestar.
Our Do The Docks tour is the only way to really get up close to the ship, before it makes its final voyage to Dubai for a new life as a first-class floating hotel. The world-famous liner will berth in Southampton at 0700 on 11 November, and leave at 1915.
At 293 metres long, and weighing over 70,000 tons, the RMS Queen Elizabeth 2 has been one of the Solent's most spectacular visitors this century. As she leaves Southampton she will fly an aamazing 39 foot pennant - one foot for every one of her years in service. To celebrate the event, there will be a firework display in Mayflower Park in the evening, as well as a big screen showing TV coverage of the farewell event.
But for a truly unforgettable experience that takes you right up close to the ship itself, then why not try the do the docks tour? As well as seeing the ship, this fascinating tour shows you a different side to our great maritime city, offering a whole host of incredible sights and sounds of the dock areas - many of them not normally accessible to the public.
