It’s important to look after the transport users of tomorrow.
That’s why we’ve joined forces with Hampshire County Council to promote Bus IT, which encourages greater use of our services for journeys to school in the Eastleigh area. As many of our timetables suit school start and finish times where possible, with enough seats available, using the bus makes sense – as well as helping to preserve the local environment for the generations of tomorrow, too.

Travel by bus gives opportunities to get fit, increases independence and improves road safety.

Pupils at the schools involved get a free BusIT pack which includes a handy timetable, money-saving offers and a BusIT card which will allow pupils to travel from home to school and back, with a change of bus if needed, for only £1 a day.

We know people want the bus to be a simple, easy travel option, so providing information and promoting the services available all feature in the Bus IT scheme, which will offer personalised travel planning, a web-based journey planner, and incentives for pupils who switch to the bus on a regular basis. The Bus IT card also allows special offers at HMV, Subway, Waterstone's, Fleming Park Leisure Centre, so it’s more than just your key to cheaper bus travel!

In the Eastleigh area, Fryern Infant, Fryern Junior, St Swithun Wells Catholic Voluntary Aided, Crestwood College, Thornden School and The Toynbee School are already a part of Bus IT. Ask at your school for further details and to see when you’re getting Bus IT!

We’re pleased to be part of the Bus IT project, which is a partnership
initiative managed by Hampshire County Council.
